Pocahontas- Daley William Crawford, 91 passed away Saturday, October 29, 2016 at Five Rivers Medical Center.
Daley was born December 15, 1924 in Dalton, Arkansas to the late Lonzo John and Hattie Brown Crawford.
Daley was with the 10th Mt. Division in Italy during WW II. He was awarded the Good conduct, EAME Theater Ribbon, 2 Bronze Stars, American Theater Ribbon, 1 Bronze star with Valor and went to work for Northeastern Steel Mill for 31 ½ years after. Daley loved to hunt, fish, and go to Lake of the Ozarks. Daley was a member of the Pyburn Street Church of Christ.
Daley is survived by several nieces and nephews; girls they babysat from birth that made a lasting impression in their lives; Audra Adams, Alexa Shipp, Katie Perry and Emily Swink, sister-in-laws Roslee Crawford, Alta Crawford, Donna Crawford, and Sylvia Brannon.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lucille Huett Crawford; brothers, Otto, James, and Lige Crawford; sisters, Irene Hulvey and Ruby Rexroad.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that you leave a lasting memorial to Paragould Childrens Home, 5515 Walcott Road, Paragould, AR 72450.
Visitation will be Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at McNabb Funeral Home Chapel from 1-2 p.m. Immediately following a celebration of life service at 2 p.m. with Dennis McCarty and Tom Towell officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Gardens.
