Obituary

MAYNARD-Curtis Franklin Melton died Sunday at his home. He was the son of the late John W. and Mary Ann Taylor Melton and was born November 24, 1921 at Ravenden Springs. Two brothers, Clifford D. Melton and John Lee Melton, also preceded him in death. He served with the US Army in the European, African and Middle Eastern Theatre Campaigns during W. W. II and was a retired truck driver and farmer. Survivors include his wife, Pauline Alphin Melton of the home, three sons, James C. Melton and wife, Linda, of Harrison, Paul E. Melton and wife, Sandy of Colorado Springs, CO and Charles Franklin Melton and wife, April, of Maynard, two daughters, Barbara Jane Melton of Jonesboro and Debbie Sue Melton of Florence, AL, grandchildren, Curtis Melton and wife, Jessie, of Harrison, Brandi Barnett and husband, David, of Pocahontas, Lavon Butler and wife, Terri, of Jonesboro, Amanda Melton of Colorado Springs, CO, Matthew Gragg of Jonesboro, Cassie Gragg of Norfork, VA, Trent Melton and wife, Ashley, of Maynard, and Brian Melton and wife, Shawna, of Sheridan, great-grandchildren, Callie Barnett, Taylor and Brock Melton, Aliyah Burks, Ethan Barnett, Jackson and Skyler Butler and one on the way. One sister Genevieve James of Buena Park , Ca. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of McNabb Funeral Home with Butler Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Masonic Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
