Jonesboro- Coyse Elaine Lyle Barton, 83, left this life Tuesday, August 20, 2019 to go be with her Lord and rest in peace.

She was born December 1, 1935 in Somerville, Alabama and lived most of her life in Arkansas. She was a hard working lady who loved doing for others that is why she became a nurse. She worked a lot of years at St. Bernards Medical Center. She also worked with Jonesboro Police Department in the COPPS program, getting Neighborhood Watch started on the north side of Jonesboro. She was also one of sixteen to get the Northeast Arkansas landlord Association started. After retiring she and her husband became landlords. Coyse was a member of the Apple Hill Church of Christ for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents Cleamon and Cathryn Lyle; a daughter, Teresa Ann Barton; a grandson, Darrell Barton Jr.; her husband, James Richard Barton; four brothers, Jimmy Don, Bennie Carl, Billy Vaughn and Bobby Van Lyle.

She is survived by her son, Darrell Wayne Barton (Deanna) of Bono; grandchildren, Dalynn Nichole Barton Turner (Daniel) of Bono and Shane Alexander Smith of Jonesboro; great-grandchildren, Wyatt Dean Turner, Dani Nichole Turner and Aaliyah Marie Wilferd; friends, Ron Sylvia (Donna) and Wickey Cox (Vicky) all of Jonesboro; and ton of other friends.

A graveside service will be 10:00 am Saturday, August 24, 2019 at Pine Log Cemetery with James King officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home.

Lasting memorials may be sent to St. Judes Children's Research Hospital.
