Cordia M. Sexton, 94, of Monette passed away Friday, July 25, 2014 at her home. She was born November 23, 1919 in Mountain View to the late John and Anna Lou Ward Smithee. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church and worked as a store clerk in the Monette area for many years. Survivors include her daughter, Angie Sexton of Monette, granddaughter, Debbie Sexton of Walnut Ridge, great grandsons, Keith Sexton (Kelly- Abbey, Cammy) of Monette and Brett Sexton (Shantel) of Manila, great granddaughter, Sydney Sexton of Paragould, great great grandson, Corbin Sexton of Manila and four brothers, Eunis Smithee (Doris) of Minear, IL, Melvin Smithee of Wynne, Leroy Smithee (Marian) of Monette and Franklin Smithee (Val) of Monette as well as three special friends of the family Maddie, Presley and Chandler Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday July 29, 2014 in the chapel of Gregg Funeral Home at Monette with Rev. J.R. McElhannon and Shawn McElhannon officiating. Interment will follow in Monette Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday evening from 6-8 at the funeral home. Honored to serve as pallbearers will be, her nephews, Tony Smithee, Ricky Smithee, Wesley Smithee and Sam Easley.
