Obituary

Mt. View- Cletis Willie Humphrey, 80, formerly of Jonesboro, passed away Tuesday, November 12, 2013. He was born on December 19, 1932 at Peach Orchard to the late Jessie and Otra Humphrey. Mr. Humphrey retired after 34 years with City, Water and Light. He will be remembered as a Child of God and an accomplished Coon Dog trainer. He was featured in Full Cry magazine many times as a master gardener. God blessed him with a beautiful high tenor voice and the ability to play many instruments. During his lifetime he made numerous friends and always made time to help a friend in need. He is survived by a daughter and her husband, Carolyn and Jeff Carter of Mt. View; three sons, Danny Humphrey (Marsha) of Flippen, Richard Humphrey of Jonesboro and Gary Wayne Humphrey (Leah Ann) of Eads, Tenn.; two brothers and their wives, Jay and Delores Humphrey of Sacremento, California and Jack and Jean Humphrey of Mira Loma, California; three sisters, Arbra May Garner and Maxine Foster both of Paragould and Irene Cook of Rainbow City, AL; eleven grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. He was also preceded in death by five brothers and a sister. A graveside service will be 10:00 am, Thursday, November 14, 2013 at Trinity Cemetery with Bro. Jeff Carter officiating under the direction of Gregg Langford Bookout Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 pm, Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home, 300 W. Matthews Ave.
