Obituary

Monette- Claude “Lynn” Barnes, 67, passed from this life on August 10, 2026. Born April 9, 1959, in Leachville, Lynn was the son of Landerith “Pete” and Kitty Sue Lancaster Barnes.

Lynn was a devoted husband, father, son, and friend. A hardworking man who spent his life providing for his family, he lived with a deep love for the Lord and was a faithful member of Monette Assembly of God. His warm smile, which he always wore and ability to never meet a stranger made him loved by all who knew him.

He cherished his children and held a special place in his heart for his late grandson, Baker Lynn. Lynn enjoyed motorcycles, his loyal dog “Buddy,” and shopping trips to TJ Maxx, Dillards and ROSS. He loved talking about high school basketball, especially his time playing for the Leachville Lions. His love for horses was lifelong, and he treasured the memories of his horse “Nubbin.”

Lynn is survived by his wife, Cindy Barnes; his son, Zachary (Paige) Barnes of Paragould; his daughter, Morgan (Josh) Grider of Wilson; his expected grandson, Warren Grider; his mother, Kitty Sue Barnes of Paragould; two brothers, Joey (Donna) Barnes of Brookland and Lannie Keith Barnes of McRae; a special nephew, Josh Barnes; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Pete Barnes and grandson Baker Lynn Barnes

Services will be held Friday, August 14, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Gregg‑Langford Bookout Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Shawn McElhannon and Josh Barnes officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Monette Cemetery.

Honored to serve him as pallbearers are Cohen Markum, Josh Barnes, Randy McDole, Matt Gragg Anthony Cline and Paul Roquet
