Pocahontas- Clark Nelson Mitchell was born July 30, 1932 in Water Valley , Arkansas to Clarence and Edna(Smith) Mitchell. He passed away at his home on February 29, 2008. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Ellouise "Minnie" Mitchell and two sons Dewayne and Eddie John Mitchell. He is survived by a daughter, Vivian Warren and a son,Wesley Mitchell both of Pocahontas, two brothers, Melvin Mitchell of Pocahontas and Jerry Mitchell of Senath, Missouri, eight grandchildren, Jennifer, Ashley, Steven, Terra, Scott, Billy, Samantha and Amanda, six great-grandchildren, Morgan, Little Joe, Madison, Tora, Aadison and Hannah, and his best friend, Cyndi. Nelson was a sawmill owner and operator. He was a lifetime member of the Masonic Lodge, member of the Naylor American Lodge and a charter member of the Pocahontas Moose Lodge. He was also an Air Force veteran. Services will be held at 2pm Monday in the chapel of McNabb Funeral Home with Mackie McReynolds officiating. Burial will follow in Randolph Memorial Gardens with Randy Getson, Dean Turner, Joel Carver, Joe DeClerk, Bob Grissom, Don Burgess and Tommy Ogden serving as pallbearers. Military honors will be provided by Promberger-Traw Post #4556 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Lambert Blissenbach, Ronnie Burgess, Bob Ashlock and Gail Sifford will serve as honorary pallbearers. Visitation will be 5-7 Sunday evening at the funeral home.
