Obituary

Mr. Clarence Lee "Butch" Yancey of Harrisburg, departed this life Saturday morning, January 30, 2021, at his home, at the age of 70.
He was born December 14, 1950 in Tyronza, Arkansas, the son of the late Clarence Lavelle Yancey and Virginia Lee Banks Yancey.
Butch graduated Harrisburg High School in 1968 and joined the U.S. Army in 1969. He spent three years active duty and served in Vietnam. He married Sevella Holcomb in 1972 and they enjoyed 48 years together. Butch worked 15 years at Halsteads and then almost 30 years as a cook for Ed\u0027s Catfish House in Jonesboro. He was also self employed with his own yard service and enjoyed woodworking. He was a member of the American Legion CC Hill Post 14, where he served as the First Vice Commander.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Anthony Yancey and David Yancey and one sister, Charlotte Nichols. He is survived by his wife, Sevella Holcomb Yancey of the home, one son, Timothy Yancey and his wife Danielle Chism Yancey, of Harrisburg, one daughter, Jennifer Mitchell and her husband P.J. Mitchell of Harrisburg, one brother, Tommy Yancey and his wife Betty of California, four sisters, Shirley Shannon of Harrisburg, Vicki Hively and her husband Randy of Cherry Valley, Linda Popejoy of Trumann, and Melissa Hooper of Bay Village, five grandchildren, Trevor Owens, Amber Owens, Garrett Bellinger, Brandon Bellinger, and Brittney Smith, and seven great grandchildren, Miley Clark, Paisley Pretty, Wyatt Owens, Kelsey Smith, Blakelee Smith, Saylor Owens and Mikie Bellinger.
The family is hosting a Memorial Service on February 20, 2021 at 11:00 am. at the Veterans Memorial Park in Harrisburg, AR across from the courthouse.
