Mrs. Clara Dortheta Adams Luttrell, 84, of Biggers, died Monday, April 22, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. Dortheta was born January 19, 1929, in Knobel, to John Quincey and Hazel Meyers Adams. She was married to Darrell Luttrell October 12, 1946. Mrs. Luttrell was a homemaker and a devoted member of Biggers Church of Christ since 1946. Dortheta was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers, and five sisters. She is survived by her son John and his wife Amy of Pocahontas and by her granddaughters Brittany and Clara Luttrell. Also, she leaves her daughter Mary Jane Fagala and her husband Bill of Jonesboro and her grandsons Phil Fagala of Little Rock and Kyle Fagala (Anna) of Memphis. Grammy also leaves a very special great-grandson, Charles David Fagala, of Memphis. Surviving brothers include Jake Adams of Poplar Bluff; Bill Adams (June) of Jonesboro; and Jerry Adams of Bonne Terre, Missouri. Dortheta also leaves her sister, Dora Lee Mann of Edwardsville, Kansas, and her half-sister, Carolyn Johnson (Charles) of St. Louis. Others, including her beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends are touched by her passing. Dortheta was a 1946 honor graduate of Knobel High School. An excellent athlete, Dortheta was captain of the basketball team. Also, she was selected Harvest Queen and Miss Knobel High. In the sixties, Dortheta and Darrell owned and operated stores in Corning and West Plains. Retired from Pro Group, she had volunteered hundreds of hours with Meals on Wheels in the Biggers community. Her greatest joy in her retirement was caring for her beloved granddaughters, Brittany and Clara. Visitation will be from 9:00 until 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 25, 2013 at McNabb\u0027s Funeral Home in Pocahontas. A memorial service, conducted by grandsons, will follow in the McNabb\u0027s Chapel at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Randolph Memorial Gardens in Pocahontas.
