Jonesboro- Charles Edwin Witt, 82, passed away Thursday, March 18, 2021 at the Flo \u0026 Phil Hospice House.
He was born July 21, 1938 in Jonesboro to the late Albert and Louise Patillo Witt. He worked for Cotton Belt Railroad for 40 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and traveling. He loved being with his wife, children, grandchildren, and great- grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Sherrill Witt; children, Lorri Weaver (Kent), Tim Witt (Patty); grandchildren, Samuel Witt, Shea Stewart (Tony), Tyler Hooks (Sarah) and three great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister Ada Cole.
A visitation will be held from noon until time of service at Philadelphia Baptist Church.
A celebration of his life will be held on Tuesday March 23, 2021 at 1:00p.m. at the Philadelphia Baptist Church with Chad Acklin officiating. Burial will follow at Philadelphia Cemetery under the direction of the Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are: Mike Barnett, Brian Duncan, Tanner Duncan, Scott Arender, Tyler Hooks, and Kent Weaver.
All attendees must wear masks and observe social distancing guidelines.
