Obituary

Jonesboro-Charles "Bokie" William Metzler Jr., 88, passed away Monday November 17, 2014 at his residence. He was born on October 26, 1926 to the late Charles William Metzler Sr. and Norma Hill Metzler in St. Bernards Hospital in Jonesboro. He attended the University of Arkansas where he was a member of Sigma Chi fraternity. He remained an active member until his death. Mr. Metzler served in the Army Air Corps. He worked at Sandia Laboratories in Albuquerque, New Mexico as a chemical engineer. He owned Indian Olds Cadillac for many years and was the president of the Cadillac Association. He married Patricia Ann Talbot on May 4, 1950 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. He truly adored his wife of sixty-three years when she passed away March 24, 2014. He is survived by a niece and her husband, Debi and Kenny Seals; a nephew, James Rinehart; two great nephews and their wives, Robert and Rosana Seals and Kolby and Tamara Seals; two special cousins, Ava Smith and Faye Ryan. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be 2:00 Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at First United Methodist Church Chapel with Rev. John Miles II officiating under the direction of Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until time of service in the Atruim. The family requests lasting memorials to the First United Methodist Church.
