Obituary

Lake City- Rev. Charles Albert Throgmartin Jr., 84, passed away Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. He was born on February 23, 1930 in Monette to the late Charles, Sr. and Lora Langston Throgmartin. Mr. Throgmartin was a retired minister of 50 years but was impressed by the passion of Christ as early as age six. He was a member of the General Assemblies of God with Lake City Assembly of God being his home church. During his ministry, he was pastor, shepherd and mentor to several who later followed his footsteps in ministry for the Lord. He oversaw the building of two new church buildings for congregations in Senath, Missouri and Cotter, Arkansas. He pastored churches in northeast Arkansas and southern Missouri as he ministered tirelessly for his savior. Even after he retired he would gladly share the good news of the gospel when a pastor friend needed someone to fill their pulpit during their absence. He was a dedicated servant of the Lord who wanted nothing more than to please GOD and bring praise and honor to his savior Jesus. His passion for Christ was evident in all aspects of his life. He is survived by his children, Renee Courtney of Lake City and David Throgmartin and wife Rhonda of Jonesboro; a daughter-in-law, Judy Throgmartin of Hot Springs; a former son-in-law, Stan Crawford of Paragould; seven grandchildren, Blake Throgmartin (Amanda), Jayke Throgmartin (Krystal), Amanda Wroble (Jason), Autumn Courtney, Caleb Crawford, Alexis Courtney and Amber Courtney; five great-grandchildren, Layne, Ethan, Jax, Noah and Eli; a sister, Beula Davidson (Robert) of Jonesboro; two brothers, Claudie Throgmartin (Helen) of Abington, Virginia and Paul Throgmartin (Rosemary) of Jonesboro.
