Jonesboro- Charles Sylvester Riley, 79, passed away Saturday, December 17, 2022 at his home.
He was born October 12, 1943 in Fisher. Charles was a retired carpenter who made beautiful cabinets. He enjoyed gardening, country music and karaoke. He preferred cowboy boots over a good pair of shoes. Above all, he loved his family and was of the Baptist faith.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Louise Mitchell Riley; father, Shelby Riley; his mother, Violet Welch Gatlin: a brother, Gerald Riley and a sister, Betty McCain.
He was survived by his sons, Charles W. Riley (April) of Jonesboro and Craig D. Riley (Caroline) of Gilbert, AZ; five siblings, Linda Gearhart, Wanda Watkins, Shelby Riley Jr., James Riley and Brenda Lange; seven grandchildren, Nicole Anne Riley, Halie Riley, Katy Ann Odum, Charles S. Riley II, William John Riley, Serina Riley and Cheyenne Riley.
The service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 22, 2022 at the Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery in the mausoleum chapel with Joseph Noto officiating. Interment will follow under the direction Gregg- Langford Bookout Funeral Home.
