Jonesboro" Charles Rudolph Fletcher, 85, passed from this life Thursday, May 2, 2013 at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. He was born March 8, 1928 in Black Oak to the late Lodes and Rhoda Fletcher. Mr. Fletcher served his country proudly in the United States Army Infantry and the United States Army Air Corps during World War II from 1946 until 1951. He worked as a painter and was a member of the Disable American Veterans. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening. He is survived by his son and wife, Dr. Michael and Allison Fletcher of Jonesboro; a granddaughter, Madison Fletcher; four step-children and their families, Bob and Christy Chambers of Grand Blanc, Michigan, Gary and Karen Chambers, Dale and Carolyn Chambers all of Jonesboro and Sue and Jerry Haynes of Dallas, Texas; three brothers, Jim Fletcher and wife Ola of Black Oak, Eugene Fletcher and wife Betty all of Black Oak and Junior Fletcher of Normal, IL; a sister and her husband, Quandoline and Bud Henson of Bono and several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Louise Cobb Fletcher; a brother, Talmage Fletcher; two sisters, Ruby Sisk and Carolyn Gunn. A celebration of his life will be 2 p.m. Sunday, May 5, 2013 at Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home with the Rev. John Miles officiating. Burial will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from noon until service time at the funeral home at 300 W. Matthews Ave. in Jonesboro. Honored to serve as active pallbearers are Jerry Allison, Roger Williams, Earl Gunn, Jerry Haynes, Tony Uthoff and David Willyerd.
