Obituary

Mr. Charles Wesley Cheney, Sr. of Harrisburg, departed this life Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at his home, at the age of 81.

He was born September 23, 1940, in Crawfordsville, AR, the son of the late John Henry Cheney and Annie Kimble Cheney.

Charles was a retired Mechanic and worked many years as a road grader for Razor Rock Materials. He retired from Razor Rock in 2013. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a U.S Army Veteran having served in Vietnam.  He was a member of the Shiloh Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Jackson Cheney in 2016, a son, John Cheney, two sisters, Maxine Boozer and Ophelia Boozer, two brothers, Robert Cheney and John Henry "J.H." Cheney, and two grandchildren Matthew Begay and Chase Brooks.

He is survived by two daughters, Carol Stover and Jennifer Phillips (Philip), one son, Charles "Chuckie" Cheney, Jr. and one sister, Dorothy Jackson (Walter), all of Harrisburg.  He also leaves six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Funeral services are set for 11:00 a.m Saturday, at the Gregg-Weston Funeral Home Chapel in Harrisburg.  Interment will follow in Harrisburg Memorial Park Cemetery with full military honors.  Friends may visit at the funeral home Friday afternoon, 4:00-6:00 p.m.
