Pocahontas- Carroll Lee Koons, 75 passed away May 6, 2015. Carroll was born January 15, 1940 at Cherokee Bay in Biggers, Arkansas to the late Jim and Fern Myers Koons. Carroll was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and also at the age of 66 received is AA degree in General Education in Alaska. He is survived by his wife Judy Snyder Koons of the home, sons David ( Jinnye Nobles) Koons, of Jonesboro, John Koons (Tina Arthur) of Little Rock, grandchildren Matthew Koons of Pocahontas, Rachel (Anthony) West of Bryant, John Caleb Koons of Cookeville, TN., great grand daughters Emma and Olivia West and one on the way Eli, special nephews Richard Alphin of Poteau, OK., Delbert Alphin Jr of Stokes, Michael Alphin of West Plaines, MO., nieces and numerous cousins. Sister Helen Alphin of Pocahontas and daughter-in-law Terri Flagg Koons of Pocahontas. He is preceded in death by son James Koons, brothers Billy James Koons and Floyd Koons. A Graveside service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, May 9, 2015 at Chesser Cemetery with Wayne Martin and Vernon Weatherford officiating. McNabb Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
