Jonesboro- Carrol Altman Thomas, 81, passed away Saturday, September 7, 2019 at his home.
He was born April 30, 1938 in Jonesboro to the late Jess and Maude Thomas. He had lived his lifetime in Jonesboro and had attended Jonesboro Public School. Mr. Thomas had worked for Frolic Footwear for fifteen years, Asphalt Paving Contractor for twenty years and retired after ten years with Sun Industries. He was a member of the First Freewill Baptist Church. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather.
He was survived by his wife of sixty-two years, Edna Fay Rutledge Thomas; five children, Michael Thomas (Doris) of Jonesboro, Carol Gulley (John) of Paragould, Scott Thomas (Pam), Donna Jean Thomas and Danna Leigh Thomas; a brother, Harvey Edward Thomas; a sister, Jesse Jean Goforth all of Jonesboro; ten grandchildren, Starli Keller (Grant), Eric Thomas (Rita), Jessica Thomas, Elizabeth Reeves (Shawn), Allen Gulley (Nisha), Heather Gates (Jonathan), Jess Gulley (Chrissy), Rebecca Scruggs (Danny), Megan Cornwell (Eric) and Sarah Thomas; and fourteen great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by two sons, Mickey Ray Thomas and Mark Kevin Thomas; a brother, John Raymond Thomas.
A memorial service will be 3:00 pm Thursday, September 12, 2019 at the First Freewill Baptist Church in Jonesboro with Rev. Kevin Barnett officiating.
The family will visit with friends after the service.
