Obituary

Carrie Mae (Cay) Olvey Berna of Pocahontas, widow of Joseph Berna died Sunday, December 14, 2008 at St. Benards Medical Center in Jonesboro. She was born October 27, 1911 to parents Pearl Ruble Olvey and Clingman Ernest Olvey in Hinton, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and two brothers C.E. Olvey Jr. And John Frank Olvey. She is survived by two nephews Richard M. Olvey and Robert Gray Olvey both of Pocahontas and a niece Dana Olvey White of North Little Rock, and by 4 great nephews, 2 great nieces, 3 great great nephews and 2 great great nieces. She is also survived by 2 sisters in law Ruth Olvey of Tallalah, LA. And Jean Olvey of Pocahontas. She was a native of Harrison and lived many years in Oklahoma City where she was employed by CNA Insurance. Upon the death of her husband she moved to Pocahontas to be near her family. She was a resident of Elmcroft and a member of the Methodist Church. A private graveside service will be held 1:00 in Maplewood Cemetery in Harrison on December 17, 2008 with John Darnall officiating. She will be buried beside her husband and parents. Memorials may be made to the Randolph County Humane Society. McNabb Funeral Home was in charge of making arrangements.
