Dallas, Texas - Carolyn Laura Pitts Summers passed away at age 87, on May 27, 2021, in Dallas, Texas.

She was born August 12, 1933, in Jonesboro to Wade Hampton Pitts and Laura Mae Orbison Pitts. Carolyn attended elementary, junior high and high schools in Jonesboro and university at Ouachita Baptist, and Arkansas State (Bachelor's in Education). She married Rev. Leroy Summers and served alongside him in various ministry roles. She dedicated her life and heart to the congregation and friends in these churches some of which include North Jacksonville Baptist Church, Florida; Union Avenue Baptist Church, Memphis, Tennessee; First Southern Baptist Church, Phoenix, Arizona; and Park Cities Baptist Church, Dallas, Texas.

She loved being an educator and retired during her seventies. She was a devoted and beloved wife, mother, sister, and grandmother who is dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Leroy Summers; brother Wade Pitts; sisters Mildred Shipp, and Connie Watson.

She is survived by her daughter, LeCarole Moore and husband Tim Moore; two grandchildren, Daniel and Alison Moore, and sister, Margaret Keel.

A Memorial Service will be held June 14, 2021, at Park Cities Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas. Graveside service at Oaklawn Cemetery in Jonesboro will be at later date under the direction of Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home.
