Mr. Leo "Butch" DeVries, of Harrisburg, departed this life Thursday, November 17, 2016, in Jonesboro, at the age of 60.
He was born May 26, 1956 in Alma, Michigan, the son of Leo Russell DeVries and Bonnie Graham Devries.
Butch was the owner of LDC Construction in Harrisburg and loved deer hunting and hot rods. He enjoyed the lake and spending time with his family. He married Janet Pace in 1997 and they enjoyed over 19 years together. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Harrisburg. He was preceded in death by his biological father and by James Delmer Cannon, who was the father that raised him.
He is survived by his mother, Bonnie Cannon of Harrisburg, his wife, Janet DeVries of the home, two daughters, Becky Thorn (Brandon) of Paducah, KY and Rachel Barton (Michael) of Tulot, AR, a son, Cannon Devries of Jonesboro, a stepson, Gregory Eberhard (Roberta) of Bartlesville, OK, two sisters, Lorrie DeVries of Jonesboro and Linda Jean Tubbs (Mike) of Augusta, AR, two brothers, Russell DeVries (Deborah) of Harrisburg and Jimmy DeVries (Joyce) of Paragould, AR, eleven grandchildren, Kaden Lindsey, Alyssa Thorn, Chance Mitleff, Caytlin Mitleff, Jacob Thorn, Kamden DeVries, Kayson Thorn, Callie Barton, Silas Eberhard, Connor Barton and Lauren Eberhard, and four nephews, Robbie Grant, Brian DeVries, Bradley DeVries and Trey Wofford.
Funeral services are set for 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the Gregg-Weston Funeral Home Chapel in Harrisburg. Interment will follow in Harrisburg Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home Saturday, 4:00-6:00 p.m.
