Monette- Burnis Martin, 84, passed away Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at NEA Baptist Hospital.

He was born July 1, 1936 in Beebe to the late Johnny and Wada Blassingame Martin. Burnis was a carpenter, who loved hunting, fishing and woodworking.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Venedia Martin; three brothers, Troy Martin (Sue) of Jonesboro, Mark Martin (Mary) of Sterling, IL and John Martin (Kaye) of Hope; two sisters, Beatrice Smithee (J.W.) of Rock Falls, IL and Phyllis Flier of Peoria, IL and several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Bridges and two brothers, Larry Martin and Michael Martin.

A celebration of his life will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 27, 2021 at Gregg Funeral Home in Monette with Rev. Jerry Reed officiating. Interment will follow at Monette Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until time of service Saturday at the funeral home.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Jordan Wood, John Lee Ashley, Phillip Duffel and Michael McFarlin.

All attendees must wear masks and observe social distancing guidelines.
