Jonesboro- Brian Scott McCoy, 48, passed Monday, August 15, 2016. He was born July 6, 1968 in China Lake, California. Brian graduated from Benton High School and attended Arkansas State University. He served proudly in the United States Air Force for 10 years including Desert Storm. He was awarded the Aerial Achievement Medal five times and a Joint Service Commendation Medal. He lived in Jonesboro the past 19 years and was a member of the Norwood Hunting Club and enjoyed deer hunting. He is survived by his wife, Allison McCoy; two daughters, Katie McCoy and Mollie McCoy of Jonesboro; his mother, Brenda Hamilton of Columbia Falls, MT; a sister, Kim Leger (Jeff) of Puyallup, WA; grandparents, Frank Krost of St. Elmo, IL and Patricia Thompson of Showlow, AZ; nieces and nephews, Rachel Johnston, Sam Johnston, Lauren Leger and Jacob Leger; brother-in-law and his wife, Bryan and Donna Johnston. He was preceded in death by his father, Max Raymond McCoy. A celebration of his life will be 2:00 pm, Thursday, August 18, 2016 at Gregg- Langford Bookout Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Miles II officiating. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until time of service Thursday at the funeral home. Honored to serve as pallbearers are Bryan Johnston, Sam Johnston, Tony Fowler, Jack Fowler, David Vance and Austin Vance. Lasting memorials may be sent to Arkansas Children's Hospital or St. Jude's Children Research Hospital.
