Brenda Gail Haymes 75, of Maynard departed this life on Wednesday January 31, 2024, at her home.

She was born on February 2, 1948, in Decatur, AL., to Ernest Tunstill and Kathleen Wiggins. Brenda was a CDMA certified dietary manager, momma, nanny, great grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend.

Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest, and Kathleen Tunstill; son, Brian Nelson; brother, Ernie Tunstill; sisters, Maedell Evans, Ernestine Ray, Peggy Johnson and Ann Chesser.

She is survived by her husband, Tony Haymes; son, Jeff (Karen) Nelson; daughters, Laura Nelson Palmer, and Amanda (Roudy) Patton; brothers, Jerry Tunstill and Jimmy Tunstill; fourteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday, February 1, 2024, in the McNabb Funeral Home Chapel.  Funeral services are at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 2, 2024, with Gary Moore officiating, in the McNabb Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Ingram Cemetery.

All arrangements are under the care of McNabb Funeral Home.
