Obituary

Mrs. Brenda Kay Harper of Harrisburg, Arkansas departed this life Sunday, November 19, 2017, at the NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro, at the age of 66.

She was born October 18, 1951 in Harrisburg, the daughter of the late Roy Secrease and Pauline Whitman Secrease.

Brenda retired from Consolidated Youth Services in Jonesboro and many years of service. She had also formerly worked for the Poinsett County Assessor\u0027s Office and American Greetings. She enjoyed spending time on Social Media and loved her grandkids. She was a member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, Roy and Pauline Secrease, she was preceded in death by one grandson, Adam Blackwood; a granddaughter, Chloe Harper.

She is survived her husband of 22 years, Johnny Harper of the home; two daughters, Teresa Bounds (Rick) of Lead Hill, AR, and Melissa Hargis (Brandon) of Harrisburg; four stepchildren, Johnny Paul Harper (Robin Bond), Jacob Harper (Connie), Amanda Tucker, Joe Harper, all of Harrisburg; two sisters, Glenda Griffith and Wanda "Dinky" Loughary; one brother, James "Buddy" Secrease (Sheila), all of Harrisburg; 15 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Funeral services are set for 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, at the Gregg-Weston Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. John Lindsey and Rev. Jason Goad officiating. Interment will follow in Harrisburg Memorial Park Cemetery.

Friends may visit at the funeral home Tuesday, 6:00-8:00 p.m.

Kelly Smith, Larry Harper, Rick Bounds, Terrick Ansley, Clay Clark and Rod Parks will serve as pallbearers. Grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.
