Mr. Bobby Gerald "Bob" Smith of Harrisburg, departed this life Sunday, September 29, 2019, at his home, at the age of 80.

He was born January 21, 1939 in Grubbs, the son of the late Ralph Smith and Pearl Maddox Smith. Bob graduated From Grubbs High School in 1958 and joined the U.S. Navy. He served 4 years and was an Assault Boat Coxwain. He married Linda Mae Griffin on June 5, 1959 and they enjoyed 60 years together. Following his term in the Navy, he worked for General Motors for nearly 30 years and retired in 1990. During his younger years he loved hunting.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Orville "Possum" Smith and two sisters, Jean Wright and Patricia Raines.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Smith of the home; two sons, Kevin Smith (Mary) of Texarkana and John Smith of the home, one daughter, Judy Lynn Sirlet of Texarkana; one sister, Joyce Ellis of Corunna, MI; six grandchildren, Bobby G. Smith, II, Kevin Smith, Sarah Moreno, Jessie Sawyer, Jack Payne and Bottie Akin, and six great grandchildren.

Funeral services are set for 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 4, 2019,at the Gregg-Weston Funeral Home Chapel in Harrisburg, with Mr. Kevin Beard officiating. Interment will follow in Clark\u0027s Cemetery at Uno with full military honors.

Friends may visit at the funeral home Friday, 12:30 p.m. till service time.
