IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Bobby Joe
Burnett
October 4, 1942 – December 28, 2024
Bobby Joe Burnett, 82, of Pocahontas, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 28, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on October 4, 1942, in Caruthersville, Missouri, to the late Luther Burrell Burnett and Millie Catherine Crouch. Bobby Joe was the sixth child and fourth son in his family.
He is survived by four daughters: Cheryl Burnett of Highland Park, Illinois, Sandra Burnett-Daly of Northbrook, Illinois, Karen Dalton (Nathan Primm) of Pocahontas, and Sherry Burnett (Allen Kimble) of Pocahontas. Bobby Joe also leaves behind five grandsons: Dean Liles (Felicia), Matthew Harner, Sean Daly, Wesley Stowers, and Wyatt Burnett, as well as five granddaughters: Katherine Turman (Kendall), Kesha Allen (Joshua), Michelle Harner, Georg'Ann Daly, and Emily Dalton. Additionally, he had eight great-grandchildren, who were a bright part of his life.
Bobby Joe was a radiant center of love for his family, and his passing has left a deep void in their hearts. Though he is gone, his legacy of love, hard work, and devotion to his family will continue to guide them. He taught them many lessons, but none more important than the value of hard work.
As a dedicated father, Bobby Joe coached his daughters' softball teams from Junior High through High School, passing on his love of baseball to them. Many cherished memories of sitting with him on Grandpa Carley's front porch listening to Jack Buck and Mike Shannon broadcasting games will forever bring smiles to their faces.
He was a hardworking man, often holding down three jobs to care for his family: working at TRW Connectors Monday through Friday, running a small waste management company on Saturday mornings, and working at the auction house in Shannon, Arkansas on Saturday nights. Saturdays were special times for his daughters, who would join him, looking forward to donuts from IGA and the bonding moments spent together.
