Obituary

Jonesboro- Bobby Gene Blancett, 83, passed Tuesday, June 5, 2018.

He was born January 30, 1935 in Newport to the late John and Madgie Trentham Blancett. Bobby served his country proudly in the United States Army as a MP Officer. He has stationed in Guggenheim, Germany.

He worked for many years at Lennox in Stuttgart as head of maintenance. Even after retiring they continued to call him for questions about the work. He worked hard to take care of his wife and family. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and adding on to his home. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Eva Qualls Blancett; a grandson, Brandon Blancett; three brothers, Bill Blancett, Jerry Blancett and Glen Blancett; a sister, Marlene Parton.

He is also preceded in death by a son, Steven Blancett; three brothers, Virgil Blancett, Calvin Blancett and Johnny Blancett.

A celebration of his life will be 11:00 am Friday, June 8, 2018 at Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home with Brandon Blancett officiating. Interment will follow at Cain Island Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 until time of service Friday at the funeral home.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Brandon Blancett, Virgil Lee Blancett, Dale Blancett, Don Parton, Denver Book and Allen Haywood.
