Mrs. Bobbie Jean Parker of Harrisburg, departed this life Wednesday morning, February 11, 2015, in Harrisburg, at the age of 81. She was born June 15, 1933, in Cherry Valley, the daughter of Emmett Milam and Lula Pitts Milam. She was a homemaker and also owned and operated Nettleton Quilt Station for many years. She enjoyed quilting, painting, and cake decorating. She married Robert E. Parker on September 2, 1950 and they enjoyed 54 years together before his death in 2004. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Stanley Flynn Parker, a granddaughter, Bronwyn Leigh Burns, and six siblings, Helen Pilcher, Forrest Milam, Maurice Milam, Jack Milam, Joyce Andrews, Mary Ann Milam and Jerry Dan Milam. She is survived by a son, Phil Parker (Teressa) of Harrisburg, a grandson, Cy Parker (Mary Anne) of Harrisburg, three grandchildren, Caroline Parker, Kaiser Parker, Kyra Burns, two brothers, Don Milam (Martha) and Emmett Milam (Paula), all of Cherry Valley, one sister, Margaret Mann of Atlanta, GA and a host of nieces and nephews. Graveside services have been set for 2:00 p.m. Friday at Tyre Cemetery at Cherry Valley, under the direction of Gregg-Weston Funeral Home of Harrisburg. Friends may visit at Lebanon Baptist Church at Whitehall, Friday at 1:00 p.m.
