Jonesboro- Billy Ray West, 77, passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at NEA Baptist Hospital.
He was born July 28, 1941 in Collinwood, Tennessee to the late Herschel and Gracie Thompson West. Billy proudly served this country in the Arkansas National Guard. He retired from farming after thirty-two years. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to deer hunt and fish. He will be remembered as a loving father, brother and grandfather and for his great sense of humor and being a friend to all.
He is survived by his children and their spouses, Donnie and Ginger West of Grubbs, Bridgette and Robert Woodall of Lake City and Nick and Amanda West of Jonesboro; five siblings, Jerry West (Lena) of Paragould, Byron West of Fisher, Christine Newman (Larry) of Bono, Betty Griffin of Jonesboro and Phil West of Imboden; ten grandchildren, Brittany West, Brianna West, Caleb Farmer, Myah Woodall, Lathan Rouse, Carlie West, Lanie Rouse, Chloie West, Lawson Rouse and Logan Rouse; four great-grandchildren, Finley Cleveland, Wyatt James Gathright, Kinsley Hill and Myles Wade; best friend, Wayne Roland and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
He is also preceded in death by five siblings, Freddie West, Bobby West, Burnis West, Linda Rose and Terry West.
A celebration of his life will be 2:00 pm Friday, May 3, 2019 at Gregg- Langford Bookout Funeral Home Chapel with Jimmy Thompson officiating. Interment will follow at Gibson Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 12:00 until 2:00 pm, Friday at the funeral home.
