Billy Joe Roberts, 79, of Pocahontas passed away Friday, January 31, 2025 at his home surrounded by his family and friends.

Billy was born June 23, 1945 in Brownsville, AL to the late Ivey and Jenny Guy Roberts.  He served for 22 years in the United States Navy where he served three tours of duty in Vietnam.  He retired as a Chief Petty Officer.  After retiring from the Navy, Bill worked as a tool and die maker.  He was a member of Walnut Ridge First Free Will Baptist Church.

Billywas preceded in death by his parents, Ivey and Jenny Roberts; sister, Mary Burridge; great grandson, Levi Reed; in-laws, Edward and Thelma Loney; and sister in law, Peggy Helton.

Billy is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Johnnie Loney Roberts; sons, Billy Joe (Tennille) Roberts Jr of Ravenden Springs and Jimmy Garner of Wynona, MO; daughters, Christina Renee (Bobby) Stamps of Oxly, MO and Lisa Marie (Jeff) Sisco of Beech Grove; eleven grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; sisters, Ella Ruth Portera, Vicki Brown, and Cynthia Sadler; and many other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Wednesday, February 5, 2025 from 1-3 PM in the chapel of McNabb Funeral Home with a funeral service beginning at 3 PM with Nelson Henderson officiating.  Military honors will be rendered at the funeral home by the United States Navy and the Promberger-Traw Post 4556 VFW Honor Guard.

Cremation will take place following all services.
