Obituary

Santa Paula, California- Billy Timms, 80, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, February 18, 2019. He was surrounded by his loved ones. He died of complication due to dementia.

He was born October 7, 1938 in Lake City. He was a produce manager for fifty years and worked on a ranch. He was a deacon of his church for fifty years and served on the pre-school board. The church chapel was dedicated to him for his hard work on the building. He enjoyed gardening, watching westerns and was an avid Lakers and Golden State fan. He will be remembered as a great witness for his Lord and brought lots of people to the Lord.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Myrtle Timms; brothers, Nolan, Euel, Delbert, Lonnie and Jackie Timms; sister, Marilyn Timms; brother-in-law, Ronnie Winford and Gary Beaty; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Timms and Martha Timms.

Billy was survived by his wife of sixty-one years, Naoma Nunn Timms; son, Davy Timms (Brenda) of Savoy, Texas; daughter, DeeDee Crow (Phil) of Aliso Viejo, CA; grandchildren, Patricia Timms of Richardson, Texas and Hadley, Logan, Wyatt and Jolie Crow of AlisoViejo; sisters, Shirley Knatcel (Don) of Hemiti, Missouri, Margie Carter (Clifton) of Marmaduke, Patricia Winford, Brenda Stotts (Terry) and Wanda Beaty of Lake City; sisters-in-law, Stella Timms and Ella Timms both of Lake City and many nieces, nephews and friends.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 pm, Monday, February 25, 2019 at Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home in Jonesboro.

A celebration of his life will be 11:00 am Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at Lake City First Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Newman officiating. Interment will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.

Also a celebration of his life will be 11:00 am Saturday, March 9, 2019 at Lifeway Baptist Church in Santa Paula.

Honored to serve as pallbearers, Logan Crow, Wyatt Crow, Curtis Timms, Mike Timms, Keith Timms and Kenneth Winford and as honorary pallbearers, Ted Knatcel, Gary Timms, Rick Timms, Dennis Timms, David Timms, Cliff Carter, John Timms, Jeffery Winford, Jackie Winford and Ronnie Winford.
