Cherry Valley- Billy Paul Cooper, 88, passed Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at his home.

He was born July 15, 1935 to the late Wallace and Lizzie Martin Cooper in Harrisburg. Billy worked for Addison Shoe Factory in Wynne, for 38 years. He served in the United States Marines during the Korean war. Billy was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed farming, fishing and spending time with his family.

He is survived by two daughters, Bobbie Jones of Cherry Valley and Billie Jo ( Ross) Frazier of Harrisburg; five grandchildren, Valerie (Coy) Johnson of Cherry Valley, Melanie ( Kyle) Wilson of Cherry Valley, Mary Mullins of Harrisburg, Skyler (Misty) Kelley of Paragould and Linken Barrett of Harrisburg; seven great-grandchildren, Brayden (Summer) Johnson, Sara Johnson, Konnor Wilson, Myla Wilson, Adian Mullins, Aubreigh Mullins and Noah Mullins.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Margie Cooper; two brothers, Odell Cooper and Gene Cooper and a sister, Shirley Whitehead.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. – 2 p.m Saturday September 9 2023 at Gregg-Weston Funeral Home in Harrisburg .

A graveside services will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Hand Cemetery near Cherry Valley with Bro. Mark Osgatharp officiating.

Honored to serve as pallbearers, Coy Johnson, Brayden Johnson, Kyle Wilson, Konnor Wilson, Skyler Kelley, Linken Barrett. Honorary pallbearers will be Adian Mullins, Noah Mullins and Ross Frazier.
