Obituary

Jonesboro- Billie Pauline Black, 91, passed away Friday, August 7, 2020 at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House.

She was born April 1, 1929 in Earle to the late James Paul and Rose Lovella Garrod Rogers. Billie moved to Jonesboro as a teenager and was a graduate of Jonesboro High School in 1947. She and Cecil were married in 1950. She retired from E. C. Barton and Company and then worked in Jonesboro City Clerk's office. Billie was a member of the First Baptist Church in Jonesboro for many years. She enjoyed spending time at Lake Norfork and loved spending time with her family. She will be remembered as a loving sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She was survived by her son, Michael Black (Melissa); grandchildren, Kassye Black and Brett Black (Whitley); great-grandson, Kellan Black all of Jonesboro; a sister, Imogene Emerson of Iowa Falls, Iowa and a host of nieces and nephews and friends.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Black: two brothers, Bobby Rogers and Jimmy Dale Rogers and two nephews.

A graveside service to celebrate her life will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, August 11, 2020 at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Don Martin officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from Noon until 1:30 pm, Tuesday at Gregg- Langford Bookout Funeral Home.
