Delaplaine- Beverly Lynn Murray, 62, passed away on April 4, 2018.
Beverly Lynn Murray loved a strong cup of coffee, her hometown, and her grandchildren. She never missed a Saturday night at Crowley's Ridge as long as her sons were racing, and she never turned down a game of cards. If she wasn't watching Bobcat basketball or one of her grandson's baseball games, she was probably off on an adventure with Blakely, Brooklyn, Bryson, Wyatt, Tripp, and Olivia.
Born October 6, 1955, to Rupert and Doris White, Lynn, affectionately known as "Ma Lynn" by scores of students, devoted her life to helping others. In her thirty-five years of teaching, she wiped tears, dished out hugs, and inspired kids to chase their dreams, no matter how big they might be. No child ever left Lynn's office without feeling cherished and loved. Whether teaching kids how to use a checkbook or signing them up for college, Lynn never failed a single child and very deservedly was named Northeast Region School Counselor of the Year and the Arkansas School Counselor Association Secondary Counselor of the Year. She served as secretary for eighteen years on the Arkansas School Counselor's Board as well as on the Northeast Region of Arkansas School Counselor's Association.
She is survived by her husband, Eli Alan Murray of Delaplaine; her son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Andrea Murray of Delaplaine; her son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Amber Murray of Delaplaine; her daughter-in-law, Stephanie Murray of Pocahontas; her father, Rupert White of Delaplaine; her aunt, Doris Riippi of Dekalb, Illinois; and her six grandchildren, Olivia, Tripp, Wyatt, Bryson, Brooklyn, and Blakely.
She is reunited in death with her mother, Doris White; her son, Terry Murray; and her grandson, Gauge Murray.
A daughter, a mother, a teacher, and a friend. Lynn will be sorely missed.
