Born in Jack, Alabama, on November 13, 1931, Betty was the daughter of the late James Henry and Ila Lee Leighton Stanton. She was one of nine siblings and grew up in a close-knit, hardworking family that instilled in her a deep sense of compassion, resilience, and faith.
Betty spent much of her life caring for others, dedicating many years to her work as a home health aide. To know her was to be touched by her strength and her generous spirit.
She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Duel Winebaugh; her parents; and her siblings: Owen Stanton, Audrey Sadler, Mary Kicklighter, Alva Morgan, James Stanton, Carrie Ann Everidge, J.T. Stanton, and Vernell Aeschliman.
Betty's legacy lives on through her family, who cherished her deeply. She is survived by her children:
Duelene (Mike) Olson of Taylors, SC
Stepson Gary (Jan) Winebaugh of Checotah, OK

Hannah Olson, Elisabeth Olson, and Jedidiah Olson, all of South Carolina
She also shared a special grandmother's bond with Jack (Lisa) Locklar, Brenda Burrows, and Heather Bearden, who held her close in their hearts as family.
Betty's legacy is one of love, strength, and the steady presence of a woman who gave her all to those around her.
A graveside service to honor and celebrate Betty's life will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at Thomas Cemetery, with Carl Massey officiating.
