Betty Jean McNew, 70, of Pocahontas went to her heavenly home Tuesday, May 14, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones.

Betty was born in Lepanto to the late Virgil Brown and Clissie Church Brown on August 7, 1953. She was a factory worker and a housewife.

She loved her family with all her heart. She attended Assembly of God church and loved the Lord. She was loved and will be missed by her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Clissie Brown; one son, three grandchildren; six brothers and two sisters.

Betty is survived by her husband, William McNew of IL.; sons, Bobby (Jennifer) Howard of Pocahontas, Joe (Christina) Howard of Pocahontas, Steve (Ladonna) Howard of Truman and Nathan Nelson of Pocahontas; sister, Ruby Brown of MS. Many grandchildren and great grandchildren, other family members and friends.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 25, 2024, at 11:30 A.M. at the Pocahontas First Assembly of God Church with Terry Miller officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of McNabb Funeral Home.
