IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Betty Jane
Hufstedler
January 1, 1942 – February 18, 2026
Betty Jane Hufstedler, 84, of Pocahontas, entered her heavenly home on Wednesday, February 18, 2026. She was surrounded by her loving family in her home.
Betty was born in Biggers, AR to the late William “Bill” Barnes and Beulah I. Jackson Barnes on January 1, 1942.
Betty loved spending time on Norfork Lake and Current River with family and friends. Betty was one of a kind and a friend to everyone. As a friend or family member, you never left her house without a gift. There would be several times she would take something off her own walls or shelves to give to someone so they wouldn’t be leaving empty handed.
Betty worked for Pocahontas Public Schools for over 30 years. She made a difference in the lives of many children while working in the cafeteria. She loved her job and putting smiles on the faces of kids every day that she worked.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Beulah Barnes; siblings, Jack Barnes, Sue Stockwell, Bunk Barnes, Shirley Griffin, Windy Barnes, Duel Wayne Barnes, and her twin brother who passed as an infant.
Betty is survived by her children David (Susan) Clay of Tuckerman, Melissa (Brock) Jones of Jonesboro, and Pamela Hufstedler Roth of Pocahontas. Further, she is survived by her grandchildren, Brandon French, Jeff Clay, Dustin French, Brittany French Pantello, Kristen Clay Muncrief, Scotty Roth, Aaron French, Ashley Roth and Makayla French. She had 18 great- grandchildren and leaves behind many loved nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Cremation has been chosen as a final disposition.
