Cave City- Betty Lou D. Hohn, 83, passed away Saturday, June 10, 2017 at Cave City Nursing Home.

She was born November 23, 1933 in Chicago, Illinois, she lived in Illinois for forty some years before moving to Arkansas in 1972.

Betty enjoyed a variety of jobs including caterer, sales clerk and most especially registrar for the Crowley's Ridge Girl Scout Council in Jonesboro. Prior to her employment with the Girl Scouts, she volunteered as a troop leader for over thirty years in Illinois and Arkansas.

Known for her craft skills, Betty was a master at creating something beautiful out of a few random items.

She is survived by her children, Donald O. Schaak of La Grange Park, Ill, Jan Whitaker (Tommy) of Jonesboro and Jodie Hightower (Justin) of Cave City; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John C. Hohn and a daughter, Renee Schaak.

The visitation will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 pm Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at Gregg- Langford Bookout Funeral Home. Burial will be private.

Betty's family would like to thank the caring staff and residents of Cave City Nursing Home where she lived for the past two years for their loving care and compassion.
