Jonesboro- Betty McAnally, 74, departed from this life with grace of Heaven's Angels of Friday, April 27, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loved ones.
She was born December 26, 1943 in Jonesboro to the late Eugene and Grace Eager Spence. Betty spent her life as a homemaker, a helpmate to her husband and helping in the ministry of serving Jesus Christ. She loved to cook, go shopping, spending time in her flower gardens, going to yard sales and flea markets and fishing. But, most of all spending time with her family. She will be remembered fondly as a loving wife, mother, sister, grandma and friend. She was a member of the Forest Home Church of the Nazarene. She loved teaching children's classes in the churches Rev. McAnally pastored.
Betty was also preceded in death by a brother, James Spence.
She is survived by her husband, Rev. J E McAnally Sr.; her children, , Debra McAnally Wilson of Cabot, J E McAnally Jr. of Jonesboro; Anita Christopher of Lake City, Gary McAnally of the home, Ruthie Kirkpatrick and Catherine Bartman both of California; two brothers, Myron Spence of Illinois and Joe Spence of Jonesboro. Betty's life was fully enriched and filled with plenty of love from fourteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
A celebration of her life will be 2:00 pm Monday, April 30, 2018 at Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ken Stallings officiating. Interment will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from noon until time of service Monday at the funeral home.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are her grandsons, Wade Blair, Allan Gooden, Justin New, Blake Spann, Josh McAnally, Daniel Myers and Charles Spann.
