Jonesboro-Betty Vernice Bowden "Luster", 90, of Jonesboro departed this life January 16, 2025 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House.
Betty was born in Black Oak to the late Chester and Ruth McGavin Cook on December 14, 1934. She was a lifelong resident of Arkansas. She was loved by everyone that ever crossed her path. In her early years she enjoyed traveling, bowling and playing canasta. In her last years she enjoyed her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her sons; Anthony and Bryan Luster her grandchildren; Brandon (Jessica) Luster, Derrick ( Cheyenne) Luster, Stephanie ( Brian) Smith and Matthew Luster. Her great-grandchildren; Delaney Smith and Harper Luster. Her sister; Genoma Gallion, as well as many nephews and nieces. She was preceded by her husband, A.D. Luster, sisters; Aileen Bell and Roberta Cook, her brothers; Steve Cook, Chester Dunkerson and James Cook, a grandson; Alexander "Lex" Patton Luster.
Services will be Thursday 23, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. in the Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Johnston officiating. Visitation will be Thursday at 12:00 p.m.
Interment will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Brandon Luster, Derrick Luster, Matthew Luster, Daniel Luster and Scot Montgomery.
