Bessie Arbutus Trammel 85, of Pocahontas passed away Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at the Randolph County Nursing Home.  Bessie was born to the late James Hiram Smith and Nina Maude Hoober Smith in Pontiac, MI. on October 13, 1937.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Nina Smith; son, Curt Trammel; daughter Gail Valentine; brother, Earl Smith; sister, Florence Luckes.

Bessie is survived by her daughter, Valorie Peterson; granddaughters, Michelle Valentine and Christine Valentine and several other grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; brother Jimmy Smith and many other family members and friends.

Cremation has been chosen as the final disposition.

All arrangements are under the direction of McNabb Funeral Home.
