Pocahontas - Bessie Margaret Benson, 95, of Pocahontas, departed this life on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at Randolph County Nursing Home.

Bessie was born on March 22, 1930, to the late Otis Lee Harmon and Mae Merritt Harmon in St. Louis, MO. She was a woman of strong Christian faith, a firm believer in God whose life was a reflection of grace and devotion. She loved to sing, filling every room with music and warmth. Pink flowers brought her joy, and she cherished every moment spent drawing and creating with her grandchildren. She was an exceptional cook, and together she and her husband lovingly ran the Village Inn Restaurant, serving their community with heart and hospitality.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Paul Benson.

Her children survive her, Glenda (Michael) Gregory, Terry (Julie) Benson, Shirley Smith, Carla Kellerman and Paula Brinkman; grandchildren, Christie (Rickey) Wilkes, Michael (Angela) Benson, Dustin Miller, Matthew Benson, and Bret (Kindle) Miller; great-grandchildren, Xander Benson, Halle Benson, Bianca Miller, Nathan Wilkes, Allison Wilkes, Abbey Miller, Chance Miller, Lydian Miller, and Addison Miller; great-great grandchildren, Greyson Wilkins, and Braxton Wilkins. Being the last of seven siblings, she leaves behind many nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 2, 2025 in the chapel of McNabb Funeral Home with a funeral service beginning at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Vince Avery officiating.  Burial will follow in Harrisburg Memorial Park Cemetery.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Michael Benson, Matthew Benson, Dustin Miller, Rickey Wilkes, Nathan Wilkes, and Chance Miller.
