Obituary

Harrisburg- Bertha Sue Gowen Winningham, 87, passed away Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at NEA Baptist Hospital.

She was born November 11, 1930 in Tony, Alabama to the late Ed Norton and Nellie Clara Daly Gowen. Sue was a homemaker and a lifelong faithful member of the County Line Church of Christ. Sue enjoyed gardening, quilting and sewing. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and sister.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jack Bennett Winningham; a son, Douglas Winningham; sisters, Marie Couch, Sadie Gartman and infant Margaret Gowen; brothers, John Gowen and Buford Gowen.

She is survived by a son, Jackie Winningham of Harrisburg; grandchildren and their spouses, Keith and Amelia Winningham of Harrisburg, Aaron and Morgan Winningham of Bay, Taylor and Jason Fitts of Wynne and Mattie and Trevor Blasingame of Trumann; sisters, Eva Looper of Bono and Ora Novak of Jonesboro; brother, David Gowen; great-grandchildren, Brayden Blasingame, Elleigh Blasingame, Grant Winningham and Tucker Fitts.

The family will receive friends from noon until 2:00 pm Friday, July 20, 2018 at Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home.

A celebration of her life will be 2:00 pm Friday at Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home with Allen Ashlock officiating. Interment will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Terry Lynn, Bill Dever, Barney McCoy, Roland Wade, Dennis Combs and Donald Combs and as honorary pallbearers, the congregation of County Line Church of Christ.
