Mrs. Bernadine Lewis, 86, formerly of Jonesboro passed away Saturday, February 1, 2014 at the Ash Flat Nursing and Rehab Center. Mrs. Lewis was born on December 6, 1927 to the late William and Elthia Alexander at Nettleton and was a lifelong resident of Jonesboro. She was a homemaker and member of the Cottage Home Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by her husband, Johnnie Lewis; two sons and their wives, Larry and Dianna Lewis of Ash Flat and Terry and Jolene Lewis of Jonesboro; two brothers, Bill (Donna) Alexander of Jonesboro and Darrel (Carol) Alexander of Sun City, Arizona; six grandchildren, Jeremy (Ashley) Lewis of Ash Flat; Jon (Christie) Lewis of Jonesboro; May (Garry) Duhme of Hardy; Jason Stephens of Ash Flat; Jacob (Jamie) Moore and Jason Moore both of Paragould; ten great-grandchildren, Cullen Lewis, Cade Lewis, Chloe Lewis, Jake Lewis, Jordon Lewis, Bailee Duhme, Emilee Duhme, Megan Stephens, Abigail Stephens, and Adrian Stephens; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by one brother, James Alexander and one sister, Alvonia Wade. A celebration of her life will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, February 3, 2014, at the Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home Chapel with Tommy Boles officiating. Burial will follow at the Keller's Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, Noon until service time at the funeral home. Honored to serve as pallbearers will be her grandsons and great grandsons and as honorary pallbearers will be her great grand daughters.
