Jonesboro - Bera Blanch Morrow Barnett, 99, passed away Monday, March 30, 2015 at Flo Phil Jones Hospice House. She was born September 6, 1915 in Bay to late Henry Arthur and Mae Moore Morrow. She graduated from Bay High School in1934 as Salutatorian. She attended ASU-Beebe and majored in children's literature. She married Vern Barnett in 1935. They lived in Searcy before relocating to Jonesboro in 1959. They were the owners of Barnett Construction Company and Arkansas Village, which produced the Conestoga Wagons for the 1976 Bicentennial Wagon Trail that traveled across the U.S. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Jonesboro. She was a member of Extension Homemakers and she enjoyed traveling and reading. While rearing six children, she made their home welcome to friends and family and whomever needed comfort or a meal. She was beloved by all and will always be remembered for her kindness and generosity. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vern Barnett; two sons, Charles Barnett and Frank Barnett; two sisters, Clata McNutt and Juanita Bays. She is survived her children, Ann Merrell, Gene (Kay) Barnett, Fred (Gayle) Barnett and Linda Robinson all of Jonesboro; twenty-six grandchildren, Luann Barnett Williams, Austin, TX, Lisa Barnett, Jonesboro, Kevin Barnett, Jonesboro, Mike (Barbara) Barnett, Jonesboro, Janet Barnett, Jonesboro, John Barnett, Jonesboro, Chris (Kelli) Barnett, Denton, TX, Carrie (Gilbert) Barnett-Rodriguez, Jonesboro, Jamie (Wendell) Dickerson, Atlanta, GA, Sheila Roberts, Jonesboro, Franklin Barnett, Jonesboro, Kathy Gartman, Jonesboro, Vanessa Merrell Adams, Columbia, MO, David (Dawn) Merrell, Jonesboro, Don Merrell, Bentonville, Shannon Barnett, Jonesboro, Whitney (Chris) Dacus, Scott (Amber) Powell, Chad (Kelli) Powell, Elizabeth (James) Bittle, Rebekah (Kevin) Snyder, Rob (Ryllis) Gambill, Kirsten (Tim) Penley, Jacob (Catherine) Gambill, Ryker (Candee) Robinson and Will (Jamie) Robinson; thirty-three great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Friday, April 3, 2015 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home, 300 West Matthews Ave. in Jonesboro. Graveside services will be Saturday, April 4, 2015 at 10:00 am at Pine Log Cemetery, in Brookland with Kathy Holler officiating. The family would like to say special thanks to Drs. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to the Phil and Flo Jones Hospice House or First Baptist Church.
