Benjamin Luther "Ben" Williams, 89, of Biggers passed away Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at the Flo \u0026 Phil Jones Hospice House.

He was born May 10, 1930 in Brockett to the late Hubert Edward and Elsie Lee Tyler Williams. Ben proudly served his country in the Navy during the Korean War. He served on the ship CC/CV 21 Boxer where he gained the trust of his superiors who requested he become a frog man, which he declined.

Ben was a gospel preacher for 66 years for Churches of Christ. He attended Freed-Hardeman College where he completed the 3-year Bible training program. He continued to teach God's word even in his last days while in the hospital.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Elsie Williams; and three great grandchildren, Emma Steele, Elliot White, and Owen White.

He is survived by his wife, Lenna Lou Wright Williams; two children, Vivian Lea "Vicki" (Richard) Brengard of Biggers and Don (Judy) Williams of Maynard; 4 grandchildren, James Alan (Denee) Johnson, Donald Zachary "Zach" (Donna) Williams, William Nicholas "Nick" Johnson, and Erica Suzanne (Dan) Rossman; 14 great grandchildren, Katelynn Brooke Johnson, Jared Scott Johnson, Megan Jo Johnson, Jake Alan Johnson, Ashlyn Ellis, Brinley Ellis, Haylee Brooke Williams, Gunner Reece Williams, Seth Weisenbach, Jordan Weisenbach, William Wesley Johnson, Tanner Dewayne Johnson, Carley Lynn Steele, and MaKenna Clair Steele; one great great grandchild, Luke DeClerk; one sister, Patricia Leota "Pat" Baker; one nephew Douglas Allen Baker, and many other relatives and friends.

Services will be Thursday, September 5, 2019 in the chapel of McNabb Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10 AM to 12 PM with a funeral service at 12 PM with Kenneth Gossett and Jimmy Young officiating. Burial will follow in Jarrett Cemetery with military honors presented.

Family will serve as Pallbearers.

Lonnie Williams will serve as Honorary Pallbearer.
