Belle "Marie" Murphy, 88, of Pocahontas, passed away Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at Five Rivers Medical Center.

Marie was born August 23, 1932 in Pocahontas to James and Birdie Brown Simpson. She spent her career as a nurse in different parts of the county, and after retirement, she worked as a school nurse at Maynard Elementary.

She is preceded in death by her first husband, Darrell E. Cagle; son, Marty Cagle; grandson; Jonathan Cagle; four brothers; and two sisters.

Marie is survived by her husband, Harvey Murphy; son, Jim (Lisa) Cagle; daughter-in-law, Pat Cagle; granddaughter, Ashley Cagle (Cody Lindsey); great-grandson, Rhett Lindsey; and brother, J.A. Simpson.

Visitation will be Friday, November 20, 2020, from 11 A.M. -1 P.M. with services at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel of McNabb Funeral Home with Joshua Dement officiating. Burial will follow at Masonic Cemetery.

To follow the directives of Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson, masks covering the mouth and nose are required for all persons in Arkansas for all indoor and outdoor settings, with exposure to non-household members where social distancing cannot be assured. Those attending will also be asked to sign a contact registry and maintain a social distance.
