Jonesboro – Becky Ann Matthews, 62, passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at her home.

She was born June 13, 1959 in Gary, Indiana to the late John and Mildred Gunter.

Becky was unlike any person we ever met. She always stood up for what she believed in, as well as those she loved. She was strong willed, and minded. She loved her family and I quote "more than words". That is how she would always tell someone she loved them. She liked to be out in the woods, down at the crick, hunting arrowheads and going to flea markets. And when she would come home from those adventures she would bring rocks galore. Not that any of us truly understood why. But she loved it. And so we let her tell us all about each and every one of them. She was so passionate about the things she loved. She would welcome anybody, any of us brought home with open arms.  Becky loved all of her family and her friends. She will be greatly missed.

Also preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Matthews; a son, Dougie Matthews; a daughter, Chrystal Lundry; a granddaughter, Elizabeth Matthews and a brother, John Gunter.

She is survived by her sons, Jody Lundry (Stevie), James Lundry and Scott Gunter; a sister, Shirley Fowler (Steve); grandchildren, Mara, Lil Jody, Charli, John, Ashlynn, Amiee, Mandolin and Eleven and great-grandchild, Remi.

A graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 20, 2022 at Trinity Cemetery. Interment will follow under the direction of Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home.
