Bay- Mrs. Barbara Jean Hill, 79, passed away on Friday, May 31, 2022 at her residence.

Barbara was born February 25, 1943 in Pocahontas to the late John Blankenship and Lena Hannaford Blankenship.  She was co-owner of Hill's Foodland for twenty-seven years with her late husband, Wayne G. Hill.  Barbara was a Girl Scout troop leader for her daughters, enjoyed crafts, quilting, and bowling, and was also a member of the Church of Christ.

Barbara was faced with many challenges throughout her life, but instead of letting them define her, she chose to live her life in love and laughter.  Her challenges led her to become a compassionate, kind, strong person who welcomed everyone into her life.  She taught by example the way to live, and she lived her life to the fullest.

She is survived by her three daughters, Darlene (Steve) Landrum of Mountain Home, Gail (Wayde) Rasberry and Sondra (Randy) Onstead of Bay; one brother, Leroy Blankenship of Batesville; and five grandchildren:  Sarah (Neal) Quinney, Hannah (Henry) Pendergraff, Ashley (Joseph) Smith, Rustin (Kassi) Onstead, William (Shana) Rasberry and nine great-grandchildren.

As a young woman, she was preceded in death by her husband, Meldon Owen.  Later in her life, she was preceded in death by her husband of forty-four years, Wayne G. Hill, and her siblings, Bill Blankenship, Joyce Hughes, and Connie Simkowiak.

A visitation will be from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m.  Friday, June 3, 2022 at Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home.  The graveside service will follow at 11:30 a.m. at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Ben Towery officiating.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Steve Landrum, Neal Quinney, Mark Blankenship, Ben Blankenship, Darrell Kirby, and William Rasberry.  Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Randy Onstead and Wayde Rasberry.
