Millersville, MO- Avis Louise Peterson, 94 passed away September 6, 2016 at home surrounded by family. Avis was born October 19, 1921 in Randolph County, AR to Sular and Kate Tiner Vandergriff. She is survived by children, Patricia (James) Brown, Bill (Pam) Peterson; grandchildren, Tim (Lisa) Brown, Steve (Anne) Brown, Curtis Brown, Brittany Brown, Patrick (Laura) Peterson, Marjorie (Jim) Trautt, Andrew Peterson; 11 great grandchildren; brother, Clyde (Virginia) Vandergriff; sister Bonnie Blissenbach; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George Jace Peterson; brothers, Kenoth Vandergriff, Dintus Vandergriff, Joe Vandergriff, Clay Vandergriff; sisters, Edna Huddleston, Alma Lee Kildow, and Alous Thatch. Visitation is Saturday, September 10, 2016 from 11-1 pm at McNabb Funeral Home with a funeral service immediately following at 1 pm with Gaylon Russell officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Gardens.
